A Step Toward Greater Independence

What Is Personal Care?

Personal care is support with everyday tasks related to hygiene, grooming, and basic bodily needs. This includes help with bathing, getting dressed, brushing teeth, using the restroom, skincare, and other personal hygiene activities. It's designed for individuals who cannot safely or comfortably manage these tasks on their own, due to age, illness, or disability.

Who Needs Personal Care?

People of all ages may need personal care, depending on their physical or cognitive condition. Seniors with limited mobility, individuals with disabilities, people recovering from surgery, or those with chronic illnesses may all benefit. Children and young adults with developmental challenges may also require assistance. Personal care is not limited to the elderly it’s about need, not age.

If you’re unsure whether personal care is appropriate, it’s always a good idea to consult with a medical professional or healthcare provider.
