Job Description

Position Title: Caregiver

Reports To: Care Coordinator

Department: Client Services

Hourly Rate: $18-20 Per Hour

Summary:
Caregivers provide personalized, compassionate care to individuals requiring assistance with daily living activities. The role focuses on improving the overall well-being and quality of life of clients through physical care, emotional support, and companionship.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

  • Monitor and assist with medication reminders as per the care plan.

  • Help clients with mobility, including walking, transferring, and repositioning.

  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, meal preparation, and cleaning.

  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, and social activities.

  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and promote emotional well-being.

  • Observe and report changes in the client’s physical, emotional, or mental condition to supervisors.

  • Follow the individualized care plan and document care activities in the agency's care management system.

  • Ensure client safety and well-being by adhering to company safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Completion of a 5-hour training program covering ADLs, IADLs, universal precautions, and emergency procedures (as per CDSS guidelines).

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.

  • Successful completion of a background check and fingerprint clearance through the California Department of Justice.

  • Completion of ongoing training requirements (5 hours of annual training).

  • TB Test

  • Permanent resident card (if applicable)

  • Employment authorization (if applicable)

  • Must be a US Citizen

Type of Job

  • Employment Status: Per Diem.

  • Work Hours: Flexible shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

  • Location: Client homes or caregiving facilities, depending on assignment.

Workplace Environment

Caregivers work in client homes or caregiving facilities. The job requires interaction with clients, family members, and other caregivers. Caregivers may work in environments where they assist clients with various physical and cognitive challenges, including those related to dementia and mobility limitations.
